Workshop Information

Community-level capacity building is one of the main activities under the Capacity Building Project on Community-based Disaster Risk Reduction through which local residents’ capacity to respond to disasters will be improved and Community leaders will form a network with disaster prevention officials and will increase their knowledge about disaster response.

Workshops are organized on disaster prevention and disaster response capacity building in a minimum of 30 locations in Hambantoata district targeting of 1,500 participants including Grama Niladhari (village chiefs), disaster management specialists, women and youth leaders, school representatives, residents selected by recommendations from public and community-based organizations (CBO).
